The powdered milk blind spot

While I tried to exercise at home, I was also eating more than the energy I was expending, because I was at home. I gained weight. Fast forward 2021, I went back to the gym, and struggled to do my favourite and effective exercise due to some pain. Still, I continued to lift weights etc. I cook my meals and eat fairly consciously. I also discovered powdered milk in 2020 and would use a 2.5kg tin for 3 to 4 months. In 2021 , I used one tin every month. I reluctantly stood on the scales one day and was shocked by what I saw. I was not losing much weight. Out of interest I happened to look at the tin of milk and noted that from drinking 7 to 10 cups of the lovely powdered milk tea with 2.5 to 3 heaped tablespoons a cup, I was consuming nearly a 1000 calories a day in the tea only some days. All this time, I was enjoying my cuppas and feeling accomplished with my exercise. As I had consciously made a decision to lose weight, this was a major breakthrough for me. I had a blind spot, a hindrance and obstacle. Something that I enjoyed, but was not in my best interest in large quantities. I am day 61 since this discovery. I still enjoy half a teaspoon of powdered milk added to my tea. I am also gradually losing weight with exercise and conscious eating.
