How to learn to mind your business is essential for peacefulness
When you are stuck in the past, try to mind your own business. Your only business is in the present. The past scattered lessons all over the place for you to learn from.
When you are way too worried about the future, remember the only moment and business that matters is in the present.
Rather than feel that someone is doing something to make you feel a certain way, or that you are not happy because of what you are focused upon, imagine how many choices you make everyday. Consider how you choose your route to work and what to eat. How you choose your clothes, your car and who to talk to. Do the same with your focus. Be selective with what you need to pay attention to.
Sometimes you fixate on someone who is not giving you the time of the day. This person lives their life as they wish, while you are struggling about them. Be kind to yourself and make yourself your business.
Try to avoid arguing for your limitations, and by justifying why someone or something makes you feel unhappy. There are many other choices you can make without those justifications. You know that if you eat something that will make you ill, you will be unsafe. So you do not eat it. Same approach applies to what you are blaming for making you unhappy.
Your task is to recognise what makes you unhappy, then create solutions and reframes to move towards the opposite of it.
Anything you notice that triggers negative emotions is information to give you clarity. It is not a reason to dwell on that situation.
Someone's behaviour that you do not like only gives you clarity about what you like. Remember, as you focus on what is wrong without intentional solutions, you remain unhappy.
As you focus on other people and blame them;.
As you focus on the past and future, you lose the moment;
You also cause a seperation within yourself and this seperation is what causes you to be unhappy. You do not experience the fullness of who you are.
Remember, in the business of others, the past or future, you get confusion and lack clarity. You cannot make clear decisions when you are in a muddle.
Be nice to yourself.
All the negative thoughts and focus that makes you unhappy requires self-compassion.
Find ways to feel good.
Yes, life is such that sometimes we fixate on some things more than others. However, it is up to you as an individual to choose what is helpful to fixate on.
Rest
Sleep and if you struggle with sleep, try deep breathing, meditation, chamomile tea, lavender infusions and oil.
When you rest and ground, you get clarity.
Reframe your thoughts.
Move your head and eyes side to side to focus on something else. And to lessen the impact of your negative thoughts.
Get up, get out and about, and appreciate what you see.
Journal and apply gratitude.
