Bedtime reflection: Honour of self-betrayal?

Did you honour yourself today
As we live and breathe, each day we encounter many streams that can carry us wherever they are flowing, unless we have an anchor.
If we are going to thrive, we need to have a sense of self, to be grounded in who we are or to be aligned. Otherwise, without following our own (personal) guidance system, we will be carried away by any of these many streams and end up washed up on some shore in any part of the world, wet, weary, cold and dazed.
This is why we benefit from exploring inner work and strengthen the self-relationship.
To develop a sense of self, and listen to inner guidance.
To adhere to personal values.
To avoid self-betrayal.
Before bed tonight reflect on how you honoured yourself today.
Remember your values.
Did you act in accordance with them?
Also reflect on how you might have betrayed yourself.
Maybe you tried too hard, put pressure on yourself or behaved less like a virtuous man.
Maybe you said yes to what does not serve you, due to pressure or because you feared being disliked. Rememember that it is not anyone's but your job to like you!
Let others off the hook. Marcus Aurelius said, " We need to excuse what our sparring partners do, and just keep our distance—without suspicion or hatred.”
Maybe you stood too long in judgment instead of moving along.
Or you beat yourself up for that thing you did , when you can learn from it!
Maybe you dwelt too long in criticism without picking yourself up to move forward.
Whatever you did, behold those thoughts.
Parent yourself with compassion.
Journal your lessons.
Forgive yourself.
Set an intention to do things differently tomorrow.
Gratefulness for being spared.
Thankfulness for virtues.
Count backwards from 100 to 0
Hug the self goodnight!
